Survey: Air Travel for People Who Use Wheelchairs
Funded by Paralyzed Veterans Administration, This survey is not administered by Walton Options.
If you use a wheelchair and have flown in a commercial aircraft in the last 5 years, the Rehabilitation Institute of Chicago is interested in your input. Please fill out the survey by going to the following SurveyMonkey website:
https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/airtravel_survey
Participants must meet the following criteria:
- 18-70 years old
- Non-ambulatory
- Use a manual or power wheelchair
This survey is designed to gather evidence pertaining to how passengers who are non-ambulatory board an aircraft, sit in the aircraft seat, and what experiences they have had related to transport of the wheelchair. This survey should take approximately 10 to 15 minutes to complete.
In this survey you will be asked to provide information regarding your travel experiences or that of someone you traveled with who is unable to complete the survey independently. Questions will reflect experiences with: various airports, airlines, the process of getting on and off the aircraft and into the aircraft seat, your opinion of sitting in the aircraft seat for the duration of the the flight, and experiences with the transport and stowage of your wheelchair.
If you have questions about the consent process, this survey or the objectives of this project, please contact Jessica Presperin Pedersen at jpedersen@ric.org or at 312-238-2964.
Thank you for your feedback!
