Walton Options Statement of Unity
“We cannot be separated in interest or divided in purpose. We stand together until the end.”
– Woodrow T. Wilson
As we enter the eve of Inauguration Day, and have had time to reflect on a day of unity with Martin Luther King Jr. Day, we feel a tremendous duty to speak on some of the things that our nation has faced in the two short weeks of the new year.
The world undoubtedly feels like a confusing space. In a time where it seems like vast progression is being made in innovation, inclusion, access, and welfare, events such as surging pandemic numbers and attacks on our government can easily make us forget how far we have come, together, as a nation. We here at Walton Options want to continue to set a standard inside and outside of the workplace. Hardship will always present itself, but it is how you get through that hardship that determines our path forward.
Walton Options will continue to be an advocate for persons with disabilities and underrepresented communities. We hold a firm belief in self-advocacy and systems advocacy, understanding that when both are done properly, there can and will be a more resounding and long-lasting impact. We have great hope for our future, that our community can put minor differences aside, and work together to make our community a place that is safe for all, a place that we can be proud to call home.
