As a community we prepare every day. One way that we can help our community to be further prepared is to encourage everyone to download the FEMA mobile application. This application allows people and families to be independent by helping them to develop communications plans, create disaster kits and consider other tools needed to be prepared for a disaster. In order to maintain independence, especially during times of disasters, it’s crucial to do everything we can to empower each other with the proper tools. We are encouraging everyone during this hurricane season to download the FEMA mobile application to ensure that everyone is prepared should disaster strike.
- With hurricane season continuing through November 30, the FEMA app is an essential tool to help your family weather the storm, nationwide.
- Receive weather alerts from the National Weather Service for up to five different locations anywhere in the United States.
- Learn what to do before, during and after emergencies with safety tips.
- Share disaster damage photos on a verified photo-sharing platform.
- Prepare ahead of time with an emergency kit checklist and safety reminders.
- Get directions to open shelters and where to talk to FEMA in person.
- Nearly half a million Americans already have the FEMA app.
