Nursing Home Transitions
Living where you want to live with who you want to live is a core principle of independent living. We believe there are alternatives to nursing home placement and that given supports that are often simple and less costly than nursing homes, persons can continue living at home. Sometimes, an injury or illness creates cause for hospitalization and perhaps even a rehabilitation stay. During this time, things can become complex and persons may not know alternative options. Our core service of transition helps you make choices based on an understanding of what the alternatives are or what supports can be put in place. If you or a family member find yourself in a situation where nursing home placement is being considered, we encourage you to call and speak with our Options Counselor.
STAR Program Hub
The Augusta Office is a hub for the Southeastern Technology Access and Reuse (STAR) Network which offers the opportunity for persons with disabilities to receive durable medical equipment that they may not otherwise be able to afford. The equipment is generally used equipment that has been donated to the program which is then cleaned, inspected and made available. The STAR Program provides equipment for a minimal contribution fee as well as takes donations of old equipment.

WIPA projects offer a range of services to help you understand your options is you choose to pursue work.
